Day 1: Arrive at Casablanca
Welcome in Morocco! We await you at Casablanca Airport, then drive to your hotel in Casablanca. Here you can rest and accommodate.
Optional: visit the cornish seaside or a walk in the Medina of Casablanca in the afternoon.
Day 2: Casablanca to Rabat - discover the imperial city
We meet at the hotel and at 8:30 am and drive you to visit the Hassan II mosque, and explore the cornish of Casablanca and have lunch.
Then we continue to Rabat, the capital of Morocco where you see the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah, the Mohamed V mausoleum, and the Royal Place (optional) before you check in to your Riad or Hotel.
Day 3: Rabat to Chefchaouen - explore Morocco's heritage
After breakfast, we head to the blue city of Chaouen, through the Rif Mountains to reach the city of Chefchaouen, known for its vibrant blue/white houses and blue doors. In addition we contemplate its beautiful panoramic views, and then explore its old Medina that was originally a Berber post.
The main square “outa Lahmam” is the heart of Chefchaouen, with the Kasbah (built back in the 18th century), a central mosque, and cafes with authentic menus. The busy market is a mix of traditional Moroccan and tourist fare. Overnight and Dinner in Chefchaouen.
Day 4: Chefchaouen to Fes - Fes City Tour
After breakfast, you have free time to explore the Medina of Chefchaouen, and then, around 10 AM, we drive to Fes through the amazing landscapes of the Rif Mountains to reach the city of Fes.
Once, in Fes, you start a half-day city tour of Fes, an explorative journey of the Medina where you visit the many hidden treasures that only the inhabitants of the place know about. Fes served as the capital of Morocco for more than 350 years and is home to the University of Al Karaouine, the oldest operating university in the world.
Your guided tour takes you to Moulay Idriss mausoleum, the Nejjarine Fountains, and the Tanneries, then finish with memorable photos of the panoramic view over the old Medine of Fes. Check in to a charming riad or hotel for an overnight and dinner.
Day 5: Fes to the Sahara Desert - see the changing sceneries
Today, we head to the great desert land and Sahara dunes.
Departure to Merzouga via Ifran is also known as the Switzerland of Morocco, the forest of Azrou where we stop to enjoy watching the monkeys/Barbary apes climb the cedar trees and then continue via the Middle Atlas mountains to reach the city of Midelte. Here we stop to have lunch.
After lunch we continue driving while enjoying the changing of desert sceneries and landscapes, continue via the Ziz valley and it's gorges to arrive at Merzouga, once in Merzouga desert, relax and enjoy a mint tea. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel or guesthouse.
Day 6: Explore Sahara Desert wonders - on camel back!
After breakfast, we go around the dunes and see the 2 oases of Merzouga, the nomadic lands, the village of Khamlia (village of the blacks), the Mifiss mines, the desert dunes, the Berber nomads and the Tissardmine oasis.
We return to the hotel or guesthouse at about 3 in the afternoon. You can relax and enjoy a mint tea or enjoy the silence of the Sahara, before starting a new desert adventure on camels.
You start a camel trek for 1 hour and a half through the huge dunes to watch the sunset and sleep under a nomadic tent at the large dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and accommodation is in the desert camp.
Day 7: Another day in the Sahara Desert - sand-boarding and Berber pizza
You can wake up early to attend a lifetime sunrise over the dunes and ride camels back to the village with the dromedaries to take a comforting hotel shower (this is optional, if you book luxury desert camp).
Today you experience desert activities. You can enjoy a sand dunes tour by an experienced driver who will take you on an adventure through the Erg Chebbi dunes. After that, you will enjoy sand-boarding moments with a professional guide.
After that you can enjoy a Berber pizza in a local restaurant in Merzouga town. Then you have a free afternoon in the hotel. Dinner and breakfast is at a Riad or guesthouse.
Day 8: Merzouga to the gorges - witness breath taking views
You have breakfast, and then meet your driver again for a new day in southern Morocco, leave towards the Todra Gorge.
This 1000ft gorge is hemmed in on all sides by vertical limestone cliffs and is also called Morocco’s Grand Canyon. There you have enough time to explore the gorge, from its plunging depths to dizzying heights. The charm of Todra lies in its changing colors as the sun slowly moves from east to that flows through it giving life to a huge variety of colorful fruit, nut trees, and extraordinary red rock formations.
Stop for lunch in a local restaurant, and then, continue our journey through the valley of The Dades Valley and Rose Valley ”Valleys of Thousand Kasbah”. Overnight and Dinner in Dades Gorges.
Day 9: Ouarzazate - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Valley towards KalaatMgouna (the roses valley) and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip.
We stop at KalaatMgouna, "the rose city", to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. Then, head to visit the old house of the PashaLaglaoui, the Pasha of Marrakech, the Kasbah Taourirt maybe this is the first world heritage Kasbah that you visit.
Later, we drive to explore one of the wonders of southern Morocco; the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a large fortified village, declared as world heritage by UNESCO since 1987 and a site that still attracts movies makers and directors from all over the world.
Once the visit is made, we stop for lunch in a local restaurant before heading to Marrakech, through the high Atlas Mountains and the beautiful landscapes of Tichka pass (2260M high road). Arrival at the city of Marrakech where we spend the night. Overnight and Dinner in Marrakech.
Day 10: Marrakech Guided Tour - more heritage, culture and history
Meet your guide and driver at the lobby of the hotel for an explorative guided city tour of Marrakech, a journey full of heritage, culture, and history.
Explore the red city, founded in the 11th century by the Almoravid Sultan Youssef Ben Tachafine, Marrakesh becomes the capital of the Kingdom; it is enriched with great constructions before knowing, under the Alawites, a more secondary role.
Called "the Red City" or "the Pearl of the South", Marrakech is a fascinating city. It enchants visitors with its contrasting colors: ocher earth color of its homes, green of the palm grove, and white snow-capped mountains of the Atlas, as well as its remarkable world heritage monuments and huge shady gardens. Berbers and Arabs meet here, the nomads and mountaineers converge here, the goods are overflowing, and the craftsmanship shines here, below palaces, casinos, hotels, and gulfs; which make it an essential complement to a stay of great quality. Marrakech is indeed the capital of southern Morocco!
Visit the main monuments of the city: the gardens of Majorelle, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Badia Palace, the souks, and the medina. Then, enjoy a cup of mint tea on a terrace overlooking the live square and the beaten heart of Marrakech; JemaaLafna Square where your Marrakech city tour will end.
Nb: depending on your flight time we will drive to Casablanca or Marrakech airport to reach your return flight.
